1st, 3rd Qualifying for RTR, Chelsea Wins, Extends Points Lead!

Round 7 was off to a roaring start yesterday with James taking his first pole of the season with Chelsea right on his tail qualifying 3rd. The strong qualifying effort awarded three championship points to James and one to Chelsea at a time when every point matters. Making his qualifying run earlier in the afternoon Vaughn would secure the 18th spot for Saturday’s competition. Qualifying 1st, 3rd and 18th
has each driver in a different section of the bracket setting up the potential
for a RTR sweep.

James will face Taylor Hull in Top 32, Vaughn will battle Odi Bakchis
and rounding out RTR in Top 32 will be Chelsea versus Mike Power.

Team RTR has returned from Round 7 of the Formula Drift season in
Grantsville, Utah with yet another Chelsea win! This is his second win in a row
and third on the year for Chelsea who extended his points lead and now sits 53
ahead of second with one round remaining. The win also made it five wins in
seven rounds for RTR this season.

Unfortunately, Chelsea would not be joined on the podium by his
teammates this round. After going two OMTs with Odi, Vaughn suffered a ring and
pinion failure ending his day in the Top 32. Qualifying P1 James easily
advanced to the round of 16, but was knocked out by Chris Forsberg.

Vaughn, Chelsea and James will next compete in the
final round of the Formula Drift season in Irwindale, California October 13-14.
